Lantz Custom Woodworking was begun as a small custom cabinet and furniture shop in Harrisonburg, Virginia, in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley. It was founded in 1997 by Doug Lantz, who was joined in the venture by his father, Dick, in 2000. From the beginning, our priority has been to achieve the highest levels of design integrity, craftsmanship and customer service.
To this end, our business has grown steadily. The current facility on Acorn Drive covers 18,000 S.F. and houses offices, a showroom and an array of state-of-the-art woodworking technology, including a CNC router. Our staff has expanded to include a team of skilled craftsmen with many years of experience.
Though our original focus was on one-of-a-kind, heirloom quality furniture pieces, our business has evolved to include high-end residential and commercial millwork and cabinetry. In 2009, we completed installation of extensive architectural millwork at LeJuene Hall, on the Virigina Military Institute’s historic parade ground. In 2010, completed James Madison University’s new Performing Arts Center which included custom millwork in two performance venues.
